ABSTRACT

Description: ViraferonPeg is a recombinant modified human interferon alfa-2b. It differs from the natural molecule by the addition of a polyethylene glycol polymer strand conjugated to the molecule. It appears to be identical to the product marketed with the trade name PegIntron. ViraferonPeg is produced by recombinant DNA technology in Escherichia coli cells and is presented as a powder (at strengths of 50 to 150 µg/dose) to be resuspended before subcutaneous injection. It is also provided in vials and cartridges to be used with multidose devices.
