ABSTRACT

Description: Glucagon is a recombinant glucagon produced in a modified Escherichia coli strain and is chemically identical to the native human hormone. The 29-amino acid single-chain polypeptide is presented as a lyophilized powder (1 mg/vial) to be reconstituted before intravenous, intramuscular, or subcutaneous administration. Glucagon is supplied in a Glucagon emergency kit for low blood sugar and in a Glucagon diagnostic kit, which contain the same amount of hormone and are provided with a syringe prefilled with diluent.
