ABSTRACT

Description: InductOs consists of a recombinant human bone morphogenetic protein-2 (h BMP-2), which promotes the differentiation of mesenchymal cells into bone cells. BMP-2 is a member of the transforming growth factor beta (TGF-β) superfamily of growth and differentiation factors. The biologically active form is a glycosylated heterodimer, consisting of 114-and 131-amino acid polypeptide subunits. It is produced in a Chinese hamster ovary (CHO) cell line using recombinant DNA techniques. The product is presented as a lyophilized powder (12 mg/ vial) with a solvent for reconstitution and a matrix made of bovine collagen for keeping the active substance in place following peri-osseous application during surgical procedures.
