ABSTRACT

Description: Protropin is a 22-kDa, 192-amino acid recombinant human growth hormone that differs from the natural hormone in having an additional methionine residue at the N terminus. Protropin completely retains the growth-inducing activity of the natural molecule. Protropin is produced by recombinant DNA technology in Escherichia coli and is presented in a lyophilized form (in vials containing either 5 or 10 mg active), to be resuspended with the provided solvent (water for injection containing 0.9% benzyl alcohol) before intramuscular or subcutaneous administration.
