ABSTRACT

In addressing limits blasting (also commonly referred to as contour blasting or wall control blasting), design personnel invariably focus on the need for vibration control (through reduction in the size of explosive charges). Many will also attempt to address the issue of “charge confinement”, though the term is poorly defined, has no commonlyaccepted units, and for which there are few quantitative relationships, or equations, to assist in controlling the effect to acceptable impacts.
