ABSTRACT
According to the layout of hydropower resources in China, the western region of conventional hydropower installed capacity reached 95 million kilowatts, accounting for 55% of the country and the degree of development of 21.5% by the end of 2010. Sichuan and Yunnan these are the most abundant hydropower resources in the western region installed capacity reached 27 million kilowatts and 17 million kilowatts, degree of development of 22.5% and 17%. The central region of conventional hydropower installed capacity reached 50 million kilowatts, accounting for 30% of the country and the degree of development of 68%. The eastern region of conventional hydropower installed capacity reached 25 million kilowatts, accounting for 15% of the country. From here we see that rich in hydropower resources in China, but the general level of development is not high, there is still a large number of hydropower resources to be exploited, especially in the western region.
