ABSTRACT

Discoloured anterior teeth may be treated with porcelain veneers, all-ceramic crowns or PFM (porcelain-fused-to-metal) restorations to restore aesthetics. These treatment alternatives may be indicated when patients require and desire realignment or reshaping of the teeth. However, it is a legitimate concern that some patients may receive extensive, irreversible treatment when correcting minor discrepancies. Non-invasive bleaching or tooth whitening may be a more attractive alternative to treat discoloured teeth.
