ABSTRACT
Definition Koilonychia is a transverse and longitudinal concave nail dystrophy giving a spoon-shaped appearance (Figure 2). It is associated with any condition which causes thinning of the nail. Children’s toenails may show an idiopathic form which resolves with age. Conversely, it may develop in the elderly and be irreversible.
