ABSTRACT
Menorrhagia is a very common complaint and accounts for 50% of all referrals to a specialist. Five percent of women aged 30-49 consult their GP each year with menorrhagia. Recent guidelines from the RCOG have supplied a format for investigation and treatment of this condition within primary care prior to referral to secondary health care services.
