ABSTRACT

Pelvic pain is one of the commonest conditions referred to the gynaecology outpatients clinic. It can have a large number of underlying causes, some of which are easy to diagnose and treat. However, a large number of patients may end up without a physical/clinical name for their pain. Patients find this very frustrating and often think gynaecologists are trying to infer that their pain is imaginary or that they are psychologically disturbed.
