ABSTRACT
The introduction of a 2-week maximum waiting time for patients who may have a malignancy means that the referral and appointment system must work efficiently and effectively. Chapter 1 deals with the handling of the referrals and appointments and the setting up of a rapid access clinic. This chapter will deal with the path that the patient follows through the rapid access clinic, completion of all investigations to admission if required.
