ABSTRACT
The red mucosa of the lower lip is an anatomical area exposed to multiple irritating factors, including the continuous solar exposure and tobacco smoking. These irritants very frequently cause precancerous conditions such as leukoplasia of the lower lip or actinic cheilitis, which would need in some cases to be surgically removed in order to avoid the development of a spindle cell carcinoma.
