ABSTRACT
I. INTRODUCTION This chapter is comprised of three sections. The first section examines the factors that alter liver metabolism and how this can affect efficacy and toxicity from anticancer drugs. The second section reviews liver toxicity in hematopoietic stem cell transplantation; this topic warrants its own section, since several of the conditioning regimens for stem cell transplantation have a high incidence of liver toxicity and a high case-fatality rate. The final section is the more traditional review of hepatotoxicity listed for individual anticancer drugs.
