ABSTRACT

This chapter will focus on the musculoskeletal aspects of Lyme disease. Case reports dating back to 1941 describe meningitis and polyneuritis preceded by transient migratory and chronic arthritis [1]. The earliest reports of the disease in the United States eminated from Lyme, Connecticut from the year 1972 [2]. During the course of untreated Lyme disease, the muskuloskeletal symptoms follow distinct patterns.
