ABSTRACT
INTRODUCTION The involuntary movements induced by dopamine blocking agents (DBAs) may arise immediately upon their initiation or be delayed (tardive). The acute manifestations include acute dystonia, akathisia, and drug-induced parkinsonism. The tardive manifestations can take a variety of forms, including tardive dystonia. This chapter reviews acute and tardive dystonia.
