ABSTRACT

Monitoring cathodic protection systems require a number of elements. There are the probes that do the monitoring, the monitoring system that operates the probes and collects the data, and the performance criteria against which the data is assessed. This chapter describes the probes, the monitoring systems, the control criteria and regimes and the requirements of the major international standards for monitoring and control of cathodic protection systems for stele in concrete. A brief discussion of steel-framed masonry structures is also included.
