ABSTRACT
The present chapter illustrates the geotechnical characterization of the soils present in the site. Also some estimations are proposed of the expected properties of the sand embankment body.
The site of investigation is a dock located in the harbor of Antwerp (Belgium). The water depth to the sediments level is about 20m in the area.
