ABSTRACT

One of the possible uses of parameterization, aside from the formal exploration or the design of constructive or structural elements, is to assume the real conditions that interfere with the project as parameters to define the form. Therefore, it is plausible to explore parameterization as a support tool throughout design development, aiming to put together both rules and regulations into an adaptable and comprehensive source of information. Thus, by creating a three-dimensional tool that is able to offer volumetric responses to the urban legislation or fire safety regulations, among others, can lead to a faster process of validating the design options and, in consequence, contribute to the development of more efficient and safe buildings.
