1 INTRODUCTION
Climate change has been occurring, perhaps since the earth existed, for instance, global temperatures normally show that seven of the top ten warmest years on record have occurred since the 90s. The decade of 2000-2009 was the warmest period on greatest worldwide (EPA, 2010). By 2100, the atmospheric concentration of CO2 is predicted to rise to 540 and 970 ppm above the current concentration. Together with other greenhouse gases such as CH4, this will lead to a predicted global increase of 1.1 and 6.4 ºC, depending on different models used and global region (IPCC, 2007).
