ABSTRACT

Hengyang Qingjiang Bridge is located in Hunan, China. To the north of the bridge is the Zhengyang Avenue, and to its south runs across the Binjiang Road and the Binhe Road. The bridge is 405 m long, its main bridge is half-through basket-handletied arch bridge with the main span of 205 meters long, the bridge deck of 24.5 m wide, and the risespan ratio of 1/3.6. The arch axis is composed of the catenary, arc and straight line, the arch axis coefficient is 1.756, and the pre-stressing camber is set to be L/600. The southern approach bridge is the pre-stressed concrete continuous box girder

1 INTRODUCTION

France built the world’s first corrugated steel web composite bridge (Cognac bridge) in 1986. Japan imported it from France in 1993. In recent years, the new style of structure has been already applied in the field of bridge engineering more and more extensively. The box girder with corrugated steel webs is a new type of composite steel-concrete structure, where the corrugated steel web shear stress distribution is more uniform, so it has an excellent shear capacity. Corrugated steel web does not resist the axial force, so it can effectively apply pre-stress on the roof and floor of concrete. Boxgirder bridge with corrugated steel webs, compared with the ordinary pre-stressed concrete box girder, has many advantages for the use of a bridge. Steel truss structure has the advantages of less weight, fast built, beautiful shape, good anti-seismic properties and a high degree of industrialization. The project practice indicates that the wave-truss composite structure has been extensively applied in engineering recently because of its big rigidity,

bridge with a span of 5 × 25 m, and 16.5 m wide and 1.5 m high. The northern approach bridge is also the pre-stressed concrete continuous box girder bridge with a span of 3 × 25 m, and 16.5 m wide and 1.5 m high.
