ABSTRACT

AERMOD air dispersion model was evaluated for its performance in predicting NO2 and SO2 in Maptaphut industrial area in Thailand. Emission data were comprised of 292 point sources, located in the study area. Modeled results were compared with those measured data from 10 receptor sites. Evaluation of model performance was carried out by using statistical analysis. It was found that AERMOD could provide accurate result for NO2 prediction. As for highest value, result from robust highest concentration analysis indicated that predicted data were well agreed with those measured data. The model tended to provide under-estimated results for SO2 calculation. Improper site selection of existing ambient air monitoring station was discussed by using results of the level and location of the maximum ground level concentration, obtained from the model.
