ABSTRACT

This chapter presents the results of development of automated computer system intended to research electrodynamic characteristic of microwave devices, which uses vector analyzer R4-36 and IBM PC based on resonant perturbation method. The field distribution by experiment can be obtained using a resonant perturbation method, which consists in the pulling of the perturbing body along the desired direction of the waveguide system resonant dummy and fixing the resonant frequency proportional to the sum of squares of field components. The information about the amplitude and phase of a reference and measured microwave signals to the stabilized low frequency. Increasing accuracy and automation of measurements, microwave devices, combined with a rapid processing of receiving results using a computer is one of actual modern measuring engineering problems. The microwave generator of R4-36 gauge is an analog voltage controlled, which makes it easy to organize a phase-locked-loop frequency control.
