ABSTRACT

OFDMA is a dominant technique for advanced wireless telecommunication systems. OFDMA technique is a solution with small complexity, but with high performance which diminishes Inter symbol interference in the band limited multipath frequency selective channels. This chapter provides a resource assignment technique in the uplink WiMax using the quantized timing information. The transmitter sets its optimum power and data rates from a lookup table based on the received codeword. Practically, using the quantized channel timing information is very useful for mobile wireless networks because this wastes only a small bounded bandwidth for the information. The chapter presents a procedure to assign optimum resources in Wimax OFDMA networks using the quantized timing information. It shows that through using the quantized channel timing information and number of bits for quantization and may reach to the total ergodic channel data rate resulted from the complete channel timing information.
