ABSTRACT

In light of the geologic features of the newly deposited layers of Huaibei Plain such as substantial changes of soil properties and universal development of calcareous concretion, the thesis conducts a number of dynamic plate load tests on a highway under construction. Worse still, few relevant tests have been conducted in Huaibei Plain and systematic studies need to be done concerning the relationship between value features of dynamic deformation modulus Evd and the sub-soil bearing capacity. The variation of dynamic deformation with calcareous concretion. Modulus Evd values is consistent with the geological conditions and soil characteristics of Huaibei Plain. Evd values give a good reflection of the bearing capacity features of typical geological bodies in Huaibei Plain and hence can be used as an index for mensurating the subsoil bearing capacity in highway engineering projects. Different types of subsoil have distinctive features of the bearing capacities which are mutually diverse.
