ABSTRACT

This chapter presents a new machine tool guide surface recognition method based on the radar-graph barycenter feature In order to solve the wear recognition problem of the machine tool guide surface. The calculation and experimental results show that the method based on the radar-graph barycenter feature can detect the guide surface effectively. Guide surface wear is the main reason for the decline of machine accuracy in the process of working. Machine vision detection technology is used to identify whether a guide surface has been worn or not and the degree of wear, to analyze the reasons of guide surface wear, and then adopt corresponding measures to alleviate wear or repair guideway, it is of significance in ensuring the quality of product processing. The visualization, which can transform features data into graphs, is an effective method to recognize the wear conditions on guide surface.
