ABSTRACT
Chinese art design began to develop since China began to reform and open up to the outside world. During the past more than 20 years, design promotes the economical development in many fields, and appear thousands of new architectural design oces, indoor design companies, advertisement companies, industrial design oces, dress designing companies, enterprise image plan companies. At the same time, lots of design departments and schools are set up in many colleges and universities; this makes art design education develop quickly. With the help of economy market, both design industry and design education have made great achievements. But the short history of the real art design education results in some shortcomings and unbalanced situation: education cannot meet the demands of the market economy at all, resulting in many college graduates’ failure to find a job at their graduation and students and parents’ beginning to doubt the education. On the one hand, in the past years, many students are enrolled in art design departments and schools, which make people feel great. On the other hand, the graduates cannot find a job and companies cannot find competent designers. So what is the problem? We need to consider the relation between art design education and market economy.
