ABSTRACT

In 2012, a report released by CNNIC showed that the number of rural Internet users had reached 136 million at the end of 2011, which accounted for 27% of China’s total number of Internet users and 21% of the total rural population; in addition, the number of internet users on mobile phones was 360 million, and internet users of mobile phones in rural areas was close to 100 million, which was 71% of the total number of internet users in rural areas. The popularity of smart phones with lowest price made in China makes it easy for farmers search the Internet, and there are a large number of new users per day from rural areas, especially mobile phone-based Internet searching model is rapidly spreading to the vast countryside. In addition the Ministry of Agriculture showed that they had signed a series of agreements with telecom operators in 2012, at the same time they brought 3G technology, the Internet of things, cloud computing technology, etc. to “Three Rural Issues” category, which laid a solid foundation for the construction of agricultural information technology. China Telecom shows high enthusiasm for the joining to “Three Rural Issues” informatization construction, which eectively promotes the construction process of of rural e-government platform, joint-defense information sharing,  agricultural products express, the development of modern agriculture, etc.
