ABSTRACT

Xi’an, known as Chang’an in ancient times, was the eastern end of the Silk Road. With enormously rich cultural and historical heritages, Xi’an has made it a magnet for tourists all over the world. Every year, thousands of foreign visitors come to Xi’an, visiting the famed Terracotta Warriors, climbing the Ming Dynasty City Wall and Dayan Pagoda, tasting the delicious local food at Muslim Street, etc. To attract more visitors and help them know more about the city, the quality of English tourism publicity is of great importance.
