ABSTRACT

ABSTRACT: In the paper we describe the possibilities of applications of 360° object photography in augmented reality. We focus on the object photography acquisition stage, where we use a real objects for digitalization into the form of structured photographic set. We describe the whole process of the digitalization. In the rendering stage we combine techniques of computer vision for localization of captured object (marker) and image based rendering methods for rendering of the digitalized object. We also focus on the different aspects and problems of rendering, especially on the lighting. By using this kind of the objects we can group them into scenes. In this stage of the process, we are limited by the camera positions in the process of sensing or digitalization. In the paper we describe also the scene formation from various objects. In the paper we will focus on the applications of augmented reality with object photography in the so called vireal museums (virtual objects in the real museums) and other application domains.
