ABSTRACT

ABSTRACT: The new millennium has brought many new social, economical, political, cultural, school and educational changes in Slovakia (changes in the school legislation, in the school system, in the educational process, in the increase of pathological phenomena at schools, etc.) Some of them are closely connected with the tasks, plans and challenges of school psychology and school psychologists at schools and their activities in the education of children. Many of these changes require an important modification of the education and training of school psychologists in Slovakia and modification of the conception of school psychology work. The promotion of health including mental health at schools at the individual, group, system and society level with an emphasis on human and children’s rights is the most important task of these professionals.
