ABSTRACT

In this paper, two types of rock fracture surfaces were induced in sandstone by means of modified shear test and Brazilian split test. The shear creep experiments were carried out for the fractured rocks in the mode of constant normal force with a step-wise increased shear loading force. The roughness of fracture rocks was scanned by Industrial Laser Scanner in three loading stages, respectively, before loading, in mid of loading and after failure. By taking into account of the surface roughness and plastic behavior, a modified generalized Kelvin model was established.
