ABSTRACT
Factors that contribute to bolt performance can be complex and variable. This makes analytical and numerical approaches difficult. A method based on bolt load measurement can be useful to supplement these methods to obtain a better understanding of support and rock interaction. Many methods have been adopted to study the reinforcing effect of rockbolt but the mechanism and effect of bolt action in jointed rock mass are still not sufficiently clear.
