ABSTRACT
On the basis of equivalent continuum and the compound material mechanics theory, an anisotropic numerical analysis method for the failure mode of dip layered rock slope is proposed. And then, the failure law of slops with different angle of layered structural planes is studied through simulation on an idealized numerical slope model. Finally, the method is applied to research the failure mode of the eastern slope of an open-pit iron mine in Hebei province, China.
