ABSTRACT

A rock berm is a commonly used secondary stabilization measure for subsea structures. It is also often used as a scour protection for bridge piers and offshore piles or as a foundation to support other structures. To protect or support other offshore structures, it is important to ensure the rock berm does not degrade excessively under the extreme storm to be expected in the service life. It is also critical to avoid the rock berms sinking into a sandy seabed.
