ABSTRACT

Recently, there has been a strong desire to develop a clothing sterilization method, because great deal of clothes will be infected by bacteria when natural hazard or epidemic disease occurs. Conventional methods such as boiling, hot steam, disinfectant soaking, UV irradiation and microwave [1-2] are used in hospital or family in small scale [3-4]. So far, there is no sterilization method available for large quantities of infected clothes. Hot steam can kill most kinds of bacteria when the temperature is more than 120°C [5], which presents special requirements for the heat resistance of materials. If only using disinfectant, a higher concentration is needed to achieve killing bacteria quickly, which will seriously corrode and damage textile.
