ABSTRACT

The availability of databases with spatial information of the characteristics of wave propagation during periods of several decades, estimated from large-scale, reanalysis models allows an assessment of the temporal evolution of storm generated ocean. Using these data it is possible to study the spatial evolution of storms, ie, provide a Lagrangian description of their characteristics. This methodology will be used to identify and characterize the storms in the North Atlantic during the 3 months period between 1st of December 2013 and 28th of February 2014.
