ABSTRACT
Shipping sector is one of the oldest and most complex sectors with its production, operation, repairing and dismantling/recycling processes. Some of the biggest human-made structures are ships such as 500,000 DWT tankers. Each stage of a ship’s life cycle (from construction to recycling) causes to form various types of wastes and emissions. These emissions has different harmful effects on air, water, land and ecosystems (Bilgili, 2014).
