ABSTRACT

In view of the above considerations, the use of recycled aggregate is one way to alleviate the various problems, in that it helps reduce the consumption of natural aggregate, promotes the effective use of concrete waste and reduces the problems related to the lack of landfill sites. Recycled aggregate made from concrete waste would be an attractive alternative to virgin aggregate in new concrete. However, most of the concrete waste worldwide is either dumped in landfills or used as roadbed gravel; few countries use recycled aggregate in concrete.
