ABSTRACT

ABSTRACT: Xiao xianggou (Ficus), was widely used as traditional “She” medicine in Zhejiang Province, China. In this work, a Reversed-Phase High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (RP-HPLC) coupled with Diode Array Detection (DAD) and electrospray ionization mass spectrometry (ESI-MS) method was developed and validated for the simultaneous identification and determination of bioactive components from Xiao xianggou. The separation of the six compounds was accomplished through a C18 column, with good specificity and satisfactory resolution. The chromatographic peaks of the four investigated compounds were identified by comparing their retention time, UV and MS spectrum with the corresponding reference compounds. The method showed a good linearity (r2 > 0.999), high precision (RSD < 5.0%), and recoveries (ranged from 87.9 to 95.3%) were acceptable. The developed method exhibited good sensitivity for the determination of such bioactive compounds, and that it constructed a basis for the comprehensive evaluation of the quality of Xiao xianggou.
