ABSTRACT

Aging, as a complex physiological process involving numerous endogenous metabolites, is di- cult to be fully characterized only by single or limited metabolites. Metabonomics is a discipline based on NMR spectroscopy and Mass spectrometry to describe the nontargeted ‘global’ analysis of tissues and biofluids for small molecular mass organic endogenous metabolites (Yin et al., 2005). In the present study, a RRLC-Q-TOF-MS-based metabonomic approach was applied to analyze the characteristic of plasma samples of rats at dierent ages.
