ABSTRACT
With this in mind, Compressed Earth Block (CEB) was chosen as the core material due to the ease it offers in terms of achieving the forms of the design and in order to integrate very thick insulation to increase energy efficiency. The dwelling is situated approximately 300 metres above sea level and its location right next to the Montseny massif means that winter conditions are more severe than in the coastal area. At this point we had to deal with the handicap of having good views of the mountain on the north side.
