ABSTRACT
The purpose of this study is to define elements that enhance sustainability in Al-Ahsa vernacular environment with the belief that many of them can be beneficial for contemporary practice. The belief is based on the fact that vernacular built form has achieved a reasonable degree of adaptation to the setting as a result of centuries of empiricism.
