ABSTRACT
In accordance with the requirement of Slovak Nuclear Regulatory Body in BNS I.4.2, the scope of the probabilistic assessment shall cover a complete set of Postulated Initiating Events (PIE), including internal and external hazards. The definition of internal initiating events is based on the IAEA-TECDOC-749 which defines the list of PIEs to be considered for a VVER type reactor. The list is extended to account for the operational experience in other VVERs in general and mores specifically from the operating fleet in Slovak Republic. The analysis of risky manipulation that can cause a man-induced initiating event is also part of the initiating event definition and is based on operational experience on this VVER type.
