ABSTRACT

With respect to safety culture, the autonomy and regulation modes found in temporary organizations can lead to divergence from the objectives of the parent organization.

Risk prevention research has so far shown little interest in the parent/temporary organization relationship (Bourrier, 1999) and in the impact of these relationships on organizational reliability. The purpose of this article is to present a typology of temporary organizations, based on a literature review, and to characterize the relationships between their organizational characteristics and the reliability of socio-technical systems.
