ABSTRACT
ABSTRACT: Taking the city of Zhangye as an example, the paper calculated water productivity of agricultural irrigation and generalized water use coefficient in 2003-2011, aiming to analyze the current situation of the utilization of agricultural water resources. The results show that: In recent years, the average water productivity was 0.5907 kg/m3. The highest value was 0.6655 kg/m3 in 2011 and the minimum value was 0.5103 kg/m3 in 2005. After 2005 year, water productivity has been rising. Zhangye’s water productivity was less than that of the entire province average, but higher than that of the national average. Agricultural irrigation water productivity and irrigation water generally show a quadratic relationship. Generalized water use coefficient generally shows a rising trend, but very gentle, remaining at 0.6529 or so, which means the actual consumption of water was about 65.29%. The total amount of agricultural irrigation water was higher than the national level, but lower than that of developed countries.
