ABSTRACT

Accordingly, considerable detection strategies for Hg2+ have been developed including atomic absorption/emission spectroscopy, auger-electron spectroscopy, inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry.[5-7] However, the drawbacks of most of these techniques are that they often require timeconsuming sample pretreatment procedures, sophisticated instrumentation, large sample volumes, or specialized skills. Therefore, there is a strong incentive to develop a sensitive, reliable, and convenient approach for monitoring Hg2+ in the environment

Heteroatom doping can endow carbon dots with various new or improved electromagnetic, optical, physicochemical, and structural properties. Until now, tremendous effort has been spent on developing synthesis methods for various types of carbon dots. 2 EXPERIMENTAL SECTION

2.1 Materials and apparatus

Glutathione was purchased from Aladdin Chemistry Co. Ltd. (Shanghai, China). L-cysteine other 16 amino acids: alanine, arginine, asparagine, aspartic acid, glutamine, glutamic acid, glycine, histidine, lysine, phenylalanine, proline, serine, threonine, tryptophan, tyrosine, valine used in this study were obtained from Shanghai Sino pharm Chemical Reagent Co. Ltd. (Shanghai, China) and Bovine Serum Albumin (BSA) was obtained from Shanghai Sangon Biological Co. Ltd. (Shanghai, China). Different pH value of phosphate buffer solution (pH 6.0-8.5, 50 mM) were prepared by using the different ratio of NaH2PO4 to Na2HPO4 solution. All reagents were of analytical grade, and doubly distilled water was used throughout. UV-vis absorption spectrum was performed on a Shimadzu UV-2450 spectrophotometer (Tokyo, Japan). The fluorescence measurements were recorded on a Fluoromax-4 fluorescence spectro fluorometer (Horiba, USA). A vortex mixer IKA MS3 digital was used to blend the solution.
