ABSTRACT

This paper presents an earthed fault location method based on SVM. First, the SVM of earthed fault is constructed; then, Fourier decomposition is used to decompose zero-sequence current of distribution line, thus, the fundamental component, harmonic components and inter-harmonic components are obtained, and they form a three dimension feature vector; finally, taking the obtained three dimension feature vector as input, using SVM to judge in which line the earthed fault happened. The simulation results indicate that the fault location by the presented method is more precise.
