ABSTRACT

Minerals of the Black Sea have a great potential for economical development of countries in the Black Sea region. Except polymetallic nodules, total stocks of which are about 5.6 million tons, gashydrates – 25 trillion m3, placers of non-ferrous and precious metals, there were explored more than 320 billion m3 of sapropel sediments in the abyssal see (Shnjukov 2004). According to the results of carried out investigations in Ukraine and Bulgaria, sapropeltogether with covering sediments – coccolith and diatom oozes – may represent a significant agronomic, industrial and ecological importance (Dimitrov2010, Dimitrov 1999, Degodjuk 2000).
