ABSTRACT

Over the last years coal deposit methane is considered as independent mineral resource. Experts had estimated the workable reserves of methane in Donets’k basin at depths to 3 km in quantity of 12-25 trillion m3 (Kompaniec et al. 2007). On the one hand, methane is one of the most promising energy sources, on the other hand – is a danger to miners and can lead to different accidents, as well as one of the major environmental pollutants. It has been recognized that methane of coal-rock massif was discovered in cracks and pores in sorption and free states. As a result during mining, the integrity of rock massif is violated that leads to the methane releasing in goaf. For the prevention of further accidents in coal mines and in order to normalize of the workflow provides a number of regulatory steps for rock and coal massif degassing intensification.
