ABSTRACT
Electric locomotives are the main type of locomotives that used in coal mines; they are more than 95% of total amount. That depends on the fact that the type of locomotives does not contaminate mine air having very high efficiency (up to 80-85%) and hyperbolical traction performance. Capability of motor to withstand sudden overloads simplifies overcoming steep gradients of the way. For reasons of safety, gas-and-dust dangerous mines apply accumulator locomotives by MI and MS.
